Registration must be completed within 60 days of your loan being funded. There is no fee from Harmoney for the PPSR registration. You can search the PPSR yourself at ppsr.gov.au before buying a used car to check whether it has existing finance owing.

What should I do if I cannot make my Harmoney loan repayments?

You can apply for hardship assistance even if your loan is already in arrears. Under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (s 72), you have the right to request a hardship variation if you are unable to meet your repayment obligations. Harmoney will generally respond to your request within 21 days. If we need more information from you, we will request it within 21 days and provide a final decision within 21 days of receiving it. If you do not provide the requested information within the timeframe specified, Harmoney will make a decision within 28 days of the original request for information. Options may include reducing repayment amounts, extending the loan term, or temporarily deferring repayments. If you are not satisfied with Harmoney's response, you can lodge a complaint with the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA, member 43816) at https://www.afca.org.au.
